Response:Patterns of Contact and Communication in Scientific Research Collaboration

Summary
This paper emphasizes on how close proximity influences collaborations between researchers. Most people that are placed together share common interests and goals. Therefore, they can share ideas with each other in informal conversations, that may lead to collaborations for research. Moreover, low-cost mobility ensures flow of communication that contributes to the completion of research. Therefore, the author suggests that informal ways of communication with other researchers that enable a feel of close proximity can help in making easier collaborations.

My View
I agree with this paper that there should be good informal ways of communication in any workplace environment.
